A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

Description:

In Rift Defender take on a twist to the bullet-hell mechanics and fly towards the projectiles in order to charge your weapons and protect your fleet from the squid monsters of an interdimensional rift in space.

In this demo take on three increasingly difficult challenges to guide your fleet safely through the rift and beyond the horrors within.

Use a small arsenal of charged weapons to shoot down your opponents, upgrade your ship after every encounter to become the defender your fleet needs to succeed.

Rift Defender, the reverse bullet-hell prototype, is coming January 31st.

Mini Dev log:

In December 2021 I challenged myself to make my first game by the end of February 2022. That game is Rift Defender and it is nearing a completed state. it is designed to be a short prototype based around the concept of collecting ammo and firing that ammo back at the enemy.

The exercise was design not just so I developed a game, but also developed my game making skills in a productive and structured way. The exercise has helped develop habits for development which I plan to nurture and follow as part of my ultimate goal: to become a full time indie game developer.

With the release of this game I am taking my first steps into indie game development and I hope that you, my followers will continue to be as supportive and helpful as you have been to so many other people just like me, following their dreams of game development.

Hey, might be a problem with the package? Getting a system error when trying to run Rift Defender.exe on Windows 10, UnityPlayer.dll not found. Not sure if its a problem on my end?

Thanks! Not a problem from your end, I missed a couple of build objects in the .zip. I have included the missing build objects now in the download, so hopefully that will resolve the issue if you redownload the zip.
